We have only a few days of home run props left in the 2023 MLB regular season, so let's make them count. Here are my three favorite HR prop bets for Wednesday's MLB slate.
Austin Hays likely woke up with an extra pep in his step this morning. Do I know that for a fact? Not exactly, but it's an educated guess based on the matchup he's staring down on Wednesday night. In 12 career at-bats against Washington Nationals starter Patrick Corbin, Hays has seven hits, a 1.167 OPS and a home run. This price is so high because the wind will be blowing in at Oriole Park, but this is worth a sprinkle.
Wednesday night's game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies is an easy target for home run props. Because of the friendly hitting conditions and the helping wind at Coors Field, Ballpark Pal projects a 31 percent boost to home runs during the game. No other game on the Wednesday slate features a HR boost above seven percent. Let's roll with Nolan Jones, who's batting .429 with a 1.548 OPS and two home runs over his last 14 at-bats.
Since Coors Field is so ripe for home runs on Wednesday night, it'd be wise to double up on HR props in this one. For the Dodgers, let's surf down the board a bit and go with James Outman. Outman has hit three home runs in his last 44 at-bats, and he's cracked 21 of his 22 homers this season off right-handed pitching. With righty Noah Davis on the mound for Colorado, this seems like a solid bet.
